Back to Black

Happy Monday Ladies and Gents!

I’m back from Cancún and I’m glad to be back. Vacations are a nice way to relax, unwind and take a break from the weekly work rut, but I’m a fan of structure so I’m definitely glad to be back at work. Plus I have to recoup my finances from this trip so… Yay work!

Dude, the weather has been super weird here in LA. It’s been cold and rainy and it’s rarely ever cold and rainy here, especially in April! As soon as I got off the plane I was like, what happened here? I was getting borderline irritated because the weather be messing with my shoot schedule yo. But I looked on the bright dark side and decided to curate a cold weather, all black outfit. It’s been a while since I wore all black because I love color. I used to wear a lot of black and dark colors in high school to look older, but now that I’m getting old, I wanna look younger!

This looks like a pretty simple outfit, but I actually put some thought into it. I wore a turtleneck to add a little more height to my neck, coated skinnies for a slim-leg effect and finally pointy black heels to elongate the legs even more. I used to steer clear of pointy shoes because they looked like witch shoes, but now I’m embracing them. The mirrored sunnies were a recent purchase that I’m in love with. I love the silver reflection they give off! I think there’s something truly special about a black monochrome outfit. It embodies class, elegance and refinement all in one color. Have a great week lovelies!

  1. Yes! There is nothing like an all-black outfit. Chic without a lot of effort. I am loving these shoes! Also, I am on the hunt for a pair or mirrored sunnies but can’t seem to find any that fit my face. Think I can find them in the kid’s section? Lol.
