Hello to you and to the first Wednesday of the year! I can’t believe it’s the 6th of January already. My how time flies when you’re a busy bee!
This outfit is a little bit of the old and new me. I grew up in Beaverton, Oregon, which is pretty much the country. It’s 20 minutes away from Portland and I don’t know if you guys have seen the show Portlandia, but everything you see in that show sums up Portland. The people there are super friendly and smiley. There are a lot of hipsters, cyclists, hippies, tree huggers and coffee connoisseurs in Portland. It’s quite eclectic.
My house sits next to 2 acres of land that spans across a marshland. Although we didn’t raise any livestock, I felt like a country girl growing up. I currently live in the heart of LA where everything is fast-paced. The people here (including me) drive at least 10 miles over the speed limit anywhere at any given time. The weekdays are just as busy as the weekends and for once, I am not the minority! It’s very diverse here. My life could not be more different. So for this outfit, I decided to pair coated jeans in oxblood and gold-chained heels with a cowhide-colored sleeveless coat, cowgirl hat and a side braid to mix up the country and modern.
